Increase Clicks by Using Buttons Rather Than Links | Driving Traffic

Buttons are probably some of the most tested aspects of Internet marketing.  A sales or opt-in page can go from OK to perfect with the right button.  The right combination of color, shape, size and text is crucial.

One thing we may not think much about is putting a button in an uncommon place where we would typically use a text link (i.e.  blog posts, email campaigns, internal web pages, etc.).  This is more of a ‘where’ test than a ‘what kind’.  A button in the right place really has the potential to make a big difference.

To me, it’s really about asking yourself, “Am I making sure every call to action, big or small, that I give to my customers is made the most of?”

Everything from the ‘buy button’ to the ‘download .pdf’ button should be equally irresistible, because you want your customers to devour every single ounce of your content to ensure they’ll taste it and want to come back for more.

I encourage you all to really challenge yourselves and ask the tough questions. Is there more you think could be testing to up your game? Comment Below.

p.s. I haven’t seen any real test results on using buttons over text links, so we’ll be testing this soon and will report back on the results.

p.p.s. If you want to check out some of our already tested and proven split testing results that we spent a lot of time on, check out 43splittests.com
